The coastline of Catania
The coastline of Catania stretches as far as Fiumefreddo di Sicilia and is one of the loveliest and most charming parts of Sicily. Catania, however, can certainly claim to be the most precious black pearl, and also the brightest, in all of Sicily. Black because the provincial capital, like all the other towns along the coast, is characterised by the presence of lava from Etna, lying inert beside the road or splendidly incorporated into the architecture of the city. Moving on to Aci Castello there are more marvels to be seen. Beautiful rocks, baroque Cathedrals, lava terraces, black beaches by a crystal clear sea, nature reserves, all accompanied by myths, folklore, festivals, gastronomy and crafts.
