Etna volcano

The Etna mountain is the highest mountain in Sicily and, the biggest active volcano in Europe which often offers a spectacle. Thanks to, or because of the lava flows from the volcano, which over the centuries have threatened, partly or totally destroyed it several times, Catania now has a largely sumptuous baroque artistic and monumental heritage, which leaves visitors by its harmony, grandeur and magnificence.When Etna is profuse with explosions and lava flows, the landscape, especially at night, takes on an almost fairy-tale or science fiction appearance, with the sky that turns various shades of yellow and red and is illuminated by flashes of light.
